Douala, Cameroon’s economic capital, is in SIC’s sights. This is thanks to the \u201cidentification of new markets and investment opportunities\u201d carried out during the 3rd edition of the city’s Urban Planning and Construction Days. It was chaired by the city’s mayor, Dr. Roger Mbassa Ndine. From June 8 to 14, 2025, Douala’s six district communes therefore aligned their efforts to address the urgent need to transform municipalities according to hygiene rules. Operationally, this event allowed SIC to conduct an autopsy of urbanization to demonstrate to the public the danger incurred due to non-compliance with current construction standards.<\/p>\n

In its diagnosis, urban disorder resulting from anarchic land occupation is the primary determinant that further exposes them to health and environmental risks. In a sensitization campaign prescribed through governmental collaboration, the various educational topics revolved around the theme: “Respect for urban planning rules and improvement of the living environment in Douala: how to act together for an attractive and emerging city?”<\/p>\n

Concerned about their health and the improvement of their living conditions, SIC once again urged citizens to follow the path of legality for sustainable urban development. Overall, the aim is for the public to acquire more detailed knowledge of construction regulations and laws. In practice, this knowledge acquisition lies in stimulating private initiatives that should participate in urban development.<\/p>\n
