The city of Bafoussam in the region of l “West Cameroon, host of the 39th edition of World Habitat D” ay. As a commemoration, it hosted numerous activities. It was overseen by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development (Minhdu), Célestine Ketcha Courtès. Held under the theme: “innovating and acting locally in the face of urban crises: for sustainable and participatory management in favor of Cameroon’s development”, this edition dedicated a week of activities to urban modernization and urban waste management. From June 30 to July 07, 2025, the various stakeholders, such as the Cameroon Real Estate Company (SIC), shared experiences during diverse meetings and communications. Among the various presentations was SIC’s at a conference on strategies for increasing real estate sales. Territorial Marketing During a round table, the Deputy General Manager (DGM), Faustin Clovis Noundjeu, presented the current territorial environment. To interact with the public, the theme: “Territorial Marketing and Real Estate Promotion: Challenges and Prospects for Attractive Cities” dominated the discussions. To better channel ideas and grasp this topic, which aims to address the housing deficit on the ground, a panel including building experts was convened. It concerns the Director of l “the Foumban Institute of Fine Arts, the representatives of the” National Order of Architects and Urban Planners. According to SIC, territorial marketing is not a fully established process. To increase sales, retain customers, and gain market share, SIC emphasizes the importance of developing a synergy among stakeholders. This involves public administrations, academic institutions, Decentralized Territorial Collectivities (DTCs), and others, to address the issue of ownership of this process at all levels. Program Development “As for SIC, efforts are being made to address the deficit in decent housing in order to improve the living conditions and environment of the population. One of SIC’s objectives is to produce high-standard housing in highly attractive central urban areas and to use the profits generated to develop social housing programs in peri-urban areas”, emphasizes the DGM in his speech. Thanks to these efforts, Cameroon is contributing to the development of real estate marketing. A field that is emerging as a crucial pillar for shaping the urban landscape, attracting investors, and boosting the local economy. For SIC’s benefit, this type of marketing allows it to understand its target market, develop its brand, and ensure a better quality of life for residents, hence its effective presence in most Cameroonian cities."}
