Project Manager, PIZZAROTTI OUR EVOLUTION Awakening of State Interest The awakening of the State&#8217;s interest in the housing sector through the creation of SIC in 1952, the development of land-related texts, and the financing of housing through external contributions. During this period, 3,200 housing units were produced by SIC. Before 1976 Partnership Following the 1976 Vancouver Conference on Human Settlements (HABITAT I), there was a strong involvement of the State in promoting social housing through the triptych of Cr\u00e9dit Foncier du Cameroun (CFC created in 1977) \/ Mission d&#8217;Am\u00e9nagement et d&#8217;Equipement des Terrains Urbains et Ruraux (MAETUR created in 1977) \/ Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Immobili\u00e8re du Cameroun (SIC reorganized in 1978). The outcome of this period was 8,200 housing units built by SIC. Between 1976 and 1986 Crisis Period This period was marked by the State&#8217;s disengagement from housing production due to the economic recession. Barely two public operations producing a few hundred housing units were recorded. Between 1986 and 2009 Renewal and Reforms Government program for the construction of 10,000 social housing units and the development of 50,000 buildable plots.
