“Today, we are a company that has been restructured and enhanced functionally, technically, and financially”. This assurance was given on July 3, 2025, in Yaoundé, by the General Manager of the SIC, Dr. Ahmadou Sardaouna. This statement regarding the effective implementation of long-unapplied state recommendations was made during a conference-debate, organized as part of the Government Action Fair (Sago).
It took place from June 28 to July 5, 2025. The theme, “Public Service Tested by Economic Growth in Cameroon,” allowed public administrations operating in various sectors to provide clarifications to the public’s questions. In a serene atmosphere of exchange, real estate concerns found answers on the sidelines of this 14th edition. Open to the public, the speaker, the SIC’s General Manager, addressed the participants on the theme: “Real Estate, a Lever for Economic Growth”.

Ecological and Inclusive Urbanization

Addressing a public demanding on urbanization issues, the SIC reiterated its commitment to meet housing needs. To date, over 5,500 housing units are planned, supported by an innovative economic model combining public sector and private partners. According to the SIC, this real estate revival incorporates the requirements of ecological and inclusive urbanization, particularly accessibility for people with reduced mobility. This key housing stakeholder presented a strong track record and announced an ambitious roadmap for the next five years.

At Sago 2025, the public was informed about national housing policies.

To achieve the current results, the SIC had first cleaned up the sector. The cleanup involved settling significant debts, addressing salary arrears, and tackling stalled construction projects.

Best Development Prospect

Another highlight of this event was the recognition of the SIC. At the closing ceremony, it won the Best Development Prospect Award. In his thank-you speech, Dr. Ahmadou Sardaouna shared the institution’s achievements and significant contributions to this event. This award was presented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication (Mincom), Félix Zogo.

This recognition crowns hard work and active participation in this exchange forum between public authorities and partners for development.
